Zippered Animal Coin Bags

4- 4 1/2 by 4 1/2 pieces of material

tearaway stabilizer

plastic zipper 7 inches long

stitch the zipper side first

1. stitching line for zipper, lay the zipper face up on line (I
use tape to hold in place)
Don’t let any metal parts of the zipper near the line.

2. lay one 4 1/2 block folded in half on the stitching line. Tape
in place.

3. repeat #2 with the other side of the zipper

4. tear away from stabilizer

5. lay one of the 4 1/2 blocks sprayed with fast tack (or whatever
you use) and stitch out the design

6. lay a 4 1/2 block on the underside of your hoop (this is for the lining)

7. unzip the zipper half way or where ever placement works

8. lay upside down on top, and tape in place

9. stitch final stitching around design

10.tear away from the stabilizer, an trim close to the stitching line

Turn right side out.

Enjoy!

1. line for zipper placement

Thanks for the free design. I just find that the instruction are not very clear as how to put the zip in & then join the front & back together. I understand that the front has to be embroidered first. Is the rest also done in the hoop? Would appreciate help with this.

Thanks for the design, Something is missing from the instructions. Not quite sure about puting in the zip. Dont see a line on the design for it. Please advise if there is another part to purse. Thank you.

Just downloaded free kitty coin purse. Sewed it out and is very cute. But there are no steps in the file to make a back with a zipper. How do we get these? Thanks for your cute designs.

Thanx so much for the little coin purse. My 2 year old niece was walking around with a little animal on her arm like you would hold your bag or purse, so when this came up I just added a ribbon when the back and front is stitched together and voila she has a purse like mommy’s and she loves it. I also found it very easy to do without the instructions.

are we attaching the zippered side in the hoop? are we taping the zippered side to the back or front of the hoop?
